Check-In: 7:45am. Training: 8:00am-3:30pm
The techniques you will learn will focus on preventing explosive behavior and safely managing physical crisis. Training in these techniques will be required in order to correctly utilize "Emergency Behavior Interventions" outlined in the SELPA plan in compliance with California Code of Regulations - Title 5, Section 3000.
This is a blended training. Participants are required to complete an online portion prior to the in-person training. If the online portion is not completed, participant will NOT be admitted to the in-person training. Participants must complete BOTH the virtual and the in-person training and pass a written examination in order to receive certification.
NOTE: The Ventura County SELPA is only authorized to certify employees of the SELPA districts, charter schools, nonpublic schools and contractors. We are not able to oversee the integrity of the interventions utilized by persons who are not our employees, nor are we able to ensure that they attend annual refresher courses. People who do not meet these criteria are welcome to attend, but will not be CPI certified.
Dress Code: Wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. No open toed shoes or sandals or you will NOT be allowed to participate.
Please Be Prompt: Participants must be checked in prior to the 8am start time. Participants who arrive more than15 minutes after the training begins will NOT be admitted.
