Speech-Language

The Ventura County SELPA is committed to providing supports to our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs).  These staff are invaluable in assisting our students in their speech and language development.

The Ventura County SELPA regularly convenes a committee of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) representing each of our SELPA school districts.  This group assesses need and develops the annual plan for training to support Speech-Language Pathologists in our SELPA.

ASHA

The Ventura County SELPA is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) to provide professional development CEUs for SLPs and audiologists.  SLPs are required to obtain a certain number of CEUs in order to maintain licensure. Ventura County SELPA pays ASHA an annual fee to register CEUs.
