COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES

Sometimes, families and professionals are looking for supports and resources to promote the health and wellness of the family and their child. There are many community agencies that are available to offer support to families.  By working with these agaencies, families may develop strategies and resilience to maintain their child in the home and to continue to access their education.

It is important that all staff working with Special Education students are aware of these agencies and what they have to offer, to be able to assist families in finding the supports they need.

The Agency 101 event is offered once a year by the SELPA to give staff the opportunity to hear about the many agencies that are available to support children and youth who are at risk.  The Agency 101 Directory is another resource that all Special Education staff should be familiar with.
